8th Fire (2/26/16)

Tarok, Second-Week, Fifth-day, the Now-Year

The PCs finally manage to dispatch the goblin mercenaries, nearly taking a few losses themselves. However, fearing the cultists will now be aware of their presence, they press on, ascending to the next level up while Nobro quickly scavenges the other rooms for any hidden goodies. On the second floor of the tree house, they enter by way of a pantry, and then fish around in a storage area where they are confronted by two more large, undead avian creatures...this time, they weren't axe beaks, but the animated corpses of owlbears! Cynjak attempts to turn one of the foul things, but can only slow it down, while the two things maul our heroes and nearly slay some of them. It's a fast, brutal fight, but the PCs are finally able to take them down, and they search the chamber to find a few curative potions and a handful of the flat brass coins similar to those they found with the Demon of the Ditch.

They decide again to continue, for fear that if they're too late, the girls might be executed by their father and his cult. They make quick work of exploring a few more chambers on this level, including a study where they discover a number of interesting texts, and some quarters that must belong to the cultists, in which Yukkbutt springs a poison trap. They next make a longer ascent up a ladder to the third level, where they find a ghastly dining room where it seems some cannibalism has taken place. In the next chamber over, they find Toli Bulberry and the witch Skrii'la, and combat ensues. The PCs battle against the cultists while she uses a latch to call forth two swarms of ravens, and before long a number of the already taxed heroes are practically dying. But the rest press on, and take down Skrii'la just in time.

NPCs

Skrii'la (human female): An elderly woman, garbed in robes threaded from tufts of feathers. She leans upon a twisted oak staff, the head of which is a leering gargoyle carving, and from all appearances she is the leader at Raventop Retreat, a death cultist hideout outside the village of Dregroot in the Old Barrowbriar.

5th Watch (2/20/16)

NPC

Janilla (human female): An attractive, ginger haired hillwoman, wearing leopard skins and leather pants, with broken sandals. She follows Nahar and Jakk into Flackard's Foundry, eventually approaching the duo once they've cleared the place of its dangers. She hails from a small family who lived in the Howling Tors, and has been there since she was a very young girl, knowing little anymore about the Ten-Tribes. Nahar and Jakk guide her back to the Court-of-Crows.
