Here is the transcript for the second session of Stealers of Dawn Online, which we played on Roll20.

New NPCs

Bandana Jakk (dwarf male): A heavily armed, stout and flame-haired male who wears his hair into various disheveled braids. His dino-scale-mail has been nicked and marred so many times that it's a wonder it still functions, and his ears and nose are heavily scarred from many failed piercings, or others that were yanked free during an altercation. He reeks of piss and fermented fruit mash, and speaks with a very broken dialect blending his own race with the local human tongue.

2nd Fire (8/7/15)

Tarok, First-Week, Sixth-day, the Now-Year

It appears that Nimmi 'Fingers' wishes to further protect his investment, since he ordered Gundo Shattermouth and a dragonborn mercenary to follow up the PCs and the human sent his ally ahead. They are introduce to SlakeThirst, who had been convinced by Nimmi that he should do some work in return for information on his sire. The others seem suspicious, and well they are, but the dragonborn does little more than offer to help, while Gundo remains at the entrance on 'rear guard'. Pressing further under Dogrush Mire, the heroes come across a large adult version of the fungus creatures they fought with earlier, and its enslaved humanoid bodyguard. The fight is more grueling than the last, even though there are less combatants involved, and the PCs realize with horror that the fungoid thing is 'planting' potential offspring in the corpses of whoever was using this place before. They procure some pouches of spores off the creature, and continue...

They finally find the 'loonroot' that Fingers seeks, but not before engaging in another battle with some purple plant creatures that protect the corpse garden from which the medicinal plants grow. After spending time to dig out all the roots they can find, they exit the rotting caves and begin their journey back to Court-of-Crows. After making camp, several of the sleeping PCs are assaulted by a giant poisonous snake, which is fortunately slain. The PCs decide to keep the thing's corpse to trade with Goblo the butcher in the village.

Tarok, First-Week, Seventh-day, the Now-Year

A long rest and an uneventful remainder of the returning trip. Upon their return, they decide some of the party will guard the roots at Maun the Bastard's tent with him, while the rest of the PCs disperse and sleep outdoors or in their own tent (i.e. the half-orc brothers).

Tarok, First-Week, Eighth-day, the Now-Year

In the morning, a meeting is set at Pilaf's Tavern, and when Nimmi arrives he tries to reward each of the PCs in turn, some demanding more tangible offerings, others seeking only info. Varying levels of machismo and trust are displayed against Fingers and his men, but in the end he thanks them for helping out the good people of the Ten-Tribes. Several of the PCs follow through on their suspicions by inquiring with Pilaf and other locals about the 'protection' they receive from Fingers and crew, especially Un'Krug who thinks the whole situation smells funny. Alas, after gaining audience with Taias 'Bloodbath', captain of the Spent Men, they realize that while these shady individuals aren't trusted, and may or not be complicit in the disappearance of a local drunk, they're not breaking any laws or rules put forth by Grand Mask. Nobro seems more trusting of Nimmi, but he's the one that catalyzed the original deal. Later in the day, the PCs also ask around for various rumors, other tasks that need be doing, trade for some gear, and trade the giant snake to Goblo for good portions of rations. They decide to follow up on a rumor that some harvester's north of the village were being harassed by a local terror called 'the Demon of the Ditch'.

NPCs:

Taias 'Bloodbath' (human male): The Captain of the Spent Men is as well cut an athletic figure as you’ve seen. Six feet tall, with perfect shoulders supporting knotted arms that have thrust weapons into many an enemy. His hair is short cut, a rarity for a man who hasn’t lost any to aging, and it makes his one scarred eye, now filled with a sphere of amber, stand out even more. He has red-dyed tattoos on the lower half of his face that extend down his neck to his upper chest, and his ears and nose are pieced with the fangs of orcs and goblins that he has butchered. His bronze breastplate, helm and shield are true rarities, rumored to be hand-me-downs from Lord Hawkwynde himself, but the wood & bone morningstar known as ‘Breath-Ender’ is nothing but nasty, local flavor.

Udiqa (human female): Garbed in a fish-scale robe which radiates different colors in the sunlight, Udiqa is a polite and peaceful woman who is also the most skilled fisher and cook in the Court. Her hair is golden and gray, as she is quite on in years, and she wields the small spear and net of her profession, plus a rare conch that somehow made its way to the Plateau from a far-off shore.
